I have the hotpoint ultima wmd942 and recently when I put it on the 90 degree wash it leaves a milky/chalky stuff over washing.
It's ok on lower degree wash.
Have you tried running a washing machine cleaner/descaler product through the machine?
You may have a build up of scale and / or undisolved soap that is coming out on the hotter washes.
Run the machine on it's hottest wash, nothing in it.
Does the wash water foam as though there's soap in it?

Have done an empty got wash and put a dr beckmans washine service thingy as well. Still same problem.
OK, that's really strange.
Open the door of the machine.
Run a rag under the door seal where it meets the inner drum.
Does it come out with gunge on it?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.
Yes, and the seal on the door looks like it's gone a bit mouldy!
OK, the cause is as I thought originally.
To have the gunge where it is and for the seal to be mouldy, it's really bad inside the tub.
You will need to either have the machine stripped apart (if it's not a plastic welded tub) and cleaned out or you'll need to keep doing maintenance washes till it's cleaned up.
The entire inside of the plastic tub is thickly coated.
If it's a plastic welded tub, it cannot be taken apart.
Do several hot washes and use 1/2 cup of soda crystals each time to see if it cleans up.
