rangemaster DXD. 20 months old.the fridge and freezer have stopped working. ther is still a motor noise, and all lights are working.

Is there any heavy frost on the rear wall inside the freezer?
Does the fan in there behind the wall still run?
Thank you for your patience!

there is no frost, I can hear a motor but can not see it.

Thanks for that, is the motor sound coming from the bottom behind the fridge or is is it inside the freezer or fridge?
Thank you

I can not tell. the back of the appliance only shows elec and water pipes

Hi it would really help me be sure of what is wrong if you could answer these questions.
Is the unit cold at all?
Also when did this fail?
Thank you

the unit is not cold at failed yesterday. If you are familier with this model, when I press the cold button at the top of the fridge the freezer shows -2 and the fridge 13 flashes for a while then stops and goes back to 22cent.. the noise from the motor comes from the bottom at the back.

Thank you for that information. You would really need to remove that back panel at the bottom behind the fridge because there is a fan back there and also the compressor.
I believe all thats running is the fan.
This problem is one of a couple of things.
Either the start replay on the compressor needs to be replaced, or more than likely the main control board bend the fridge has failed as they will sometimes.
The control board powers the compressor based on the temp inside the compartments.
Since you live in the UK a lot of these have a 2 year warranty. Before I tell you to buy parts, I would check with the manufacturer on this.
No additional cost to you to rate and then I will be able to stick with you until this is fixed and working as it should.
Thank you and have a great evening!
