Hi I have a zanussi Electrolux fridge freezer. I wrote previously and was guided through defrosting the freezer because the fridge was not cold. I have now had to do this 3 times in a 10 week period...any ideas on what else might be wrong ? (Something to do with the defrost function?)
Hi and good morning,
Yes this is a defrost issue.
There are basically three parts you need to replace to fix this and I recommend to replace them all to fix this for many reasons.
But what you need (and they are all pretty easy to replace) is the defrost timer, the Bi Metal sensor, and the defrost heater.
The timer is inside the fridge, the defrost heater and Bi Metal are behind the rear wall inside the freezer. Only a few basic tools are requires and I will help you all the way once you have the parts. No additional cost to you;-)
The best place to get these parts is Espares, I have provided you with all their contact info below.
If you will rate my service to you thus far as ok or better, before closing this page, I will be able stick with you until this fixed.
Please note it won't cost you anything more to rate, and it WILL ensure your question won't time out or end unexpectedly, then you can always contact me the very same way at no additional cost;-)
Thank you and have a wonderful day!

Michael, thanks for the advice. Fridge seems to be warming wife called for a technician to come and they said we needed to empty and defrost for 4 days then they would look at it. Surely we know that it will 'work again' for a short time before failing again ?

To complete your way, do I need specialist tools ? The parts seem to be over £100 and wondering if it's sensible to ditch and buy a new one...?
