Customer Question

Have a Dyson 25. Got sock caught in brush bar last week. Have taken the head apart and cleaned it all out. Brush bar only works for two seconds when dyson is turned on. If I hold the grey button next to red power button down, then brush bar intermittently works in 2 second spurts. Any help appreciated.
Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,
sorry to hear that, how old is your Dyson?
Thank you

Hello, my name is George... Please check the belt of your vacuum. If you get a large object stuck in the brushbar the teeth on the belt break off. If you have just a few teeth left on the belt, then the belt can rotate causing the brushbar to turn only when the remaining teeth come around to turn it.

The belt number is ***** and is available from most vacuum stockists.

Dyson dc25 is 4years old
Taken head off and cleaned brushes
Checked belt and is tight with all teeth - good condition
I think it is a faulty switch as when I press the red button the brushes rotate on average for 2 seconds.
Very occasionally it bites and brushes rotate fully until powered off
Cheers Paul
