Hello there,

I've been working hard to find a Professional to assist you with your question, but sometimes finding the right Professional can take a little longer than expected.

I wonder whether you're ok with continuing to wait for an answer. If you are, please let me know and I will continue my search. If not, feel free to let me know and I will cancel this question for you.

Please note, I am just a moderator for this category, I can only try and find experts to help, I can't answer the question itself.

Thank you!

Hello John, hi Adam, my name is ***** ***** I will give you the most probable answer to your question.

The muffler is equipped with a spark arrestor screen inside muffler body. On most brands of leaf blower the spark arrestor looks like a large nut from the outside, and when unscrewed you see a screen over the end. After extended use the screen can become dirty... this needs to be cleaned.

Never run the blower without the spark arrestor in place as it can cause a fire and possibly injury.

It is always best to have the arrestor screen cleaned or replaced by an authorised or qualified technician, but if you are capable of doing the job yourself and can get the parts, always ensure that you remove the spark plug before any attempt at repair.
