Hi tryin to fix a potterton performa he 30 boiler starts up on cold hits 40 temp neon then fan flue fault flashes.
Fan spins
New air pressure switch installed
Venturi + flue all clear
Boiler works fine if air pressure switch is blown into
Plumberpro :

Him. Do you have a multimeter to test the ohms reading on the fan? Yousay the fan spins , does it spin freely and smoothly?

Customer: Not at the job now yes fan runs free
Customer: Not at the job now fan runs until call for heat has stopped
Plumberpro :

Hi . does it do this on hot water and heating ?

Hi . sorry , it switched from chat to question and answer , but we can continue like this

All normal but no click from air pressure switch until I blow down positive tube boiler fires up fine
Pretty sure its going to be the fan .they can be tested on ohms .most will be 40 to 80 ohms . less than 20 and more than 150 replace . sometimes as they heat up they go faulty.

Any idea what pressure should be coming from the Venturi to activate the air pressure switch
I've never seen that given anywhere , but if you can trick the boiler into firing by blowing down the tube then the rest of the boier is probably ok . and it will most likely be the fan . when they start to get week you get intermittent failure where it attempts to relight . eventually it goes completely
