Hi michael,its a hotpoint 7kgwmf 720 aquarius ,thanks

Can you explain some more on this please?
When your machine finds a fault it should flash the lights across the front.
On the right side there's a column of 6 lights.
Number the 6 lights with 1 at the bottom.
Which numbers are lit?
Or, is it the door lock light that keeps flashing?
If it is, does it flash after you close the door and start the program, or before?
Thank you

The symptoms you describe suggest a faulty door lock and/or faulty control board.
Open the door.
Look at the latch pin on the door.
Push it back, is the spring inside the door pushing it fully over?
If it is, close the door a good bit harder than normal.
Give the door handle a thump.
Try starting the machine.
Does it start?

Hi Dave it really sounds like the door lock may be the issue, but try this for me, unplug the washer for 30 minutes then back in.
please let me know if it does drain or do anything different?
