Hi, I am replacing my thermostat in my fridge and can't remove

This answer was rated:

Hi, I am replacing my thermostat in my fridge and can't remove the old sleeve from the capillary. Is it ok to use normal earth sleeving to replace it, or do I need specific sleeving.
Dales-Electronic :

Hello My name is Ian ~ I am not on the site constantly so please be patient whilst waiting for responses to you queries

Dales-Electronic :

The sleeving is only there to give an extra level of electrical insulation, if the replacement thermostat has no insulation I would use normal earth sleeving to the point where you are out of the thermostat housing to give you extra piece of mind, otherwise it is not needed. Ian

Dales-Electronic :

Usually the capillary tube slides inside a plastic sleeve on its way to its connection point on the evaporator anyway.
