my worcester combi (24i ) isnt lighting.
It clicks repeatedly and the fan whirs.
months we have had to make sure the central heating was off to be able to run a bath but even then the water would go cold and you had to turn the tap off and on again.

Is it a 24i junior , system or greenstar? There will be a GC number on the boiler or in the manual

Its not just the hot water but its the heating today, i turned controller off mins and back on, the flame tried to ignite repeatedly then lit, went out relit, ran 5 mins went out now keeps trying!

, are you able to take the front case off and see which area of the boiler the clicking is coming from . when there is a call the fan will run , switching the air pressure switch , followed by sparking and ignition.

Do you mean the outer cover or the inner silver cover? Have taken the outer cover off to see the flame window. the fan comes on ok but the clicking is tick- tick, tick- tick, tick-tick. Does this sound like the air pressure switch?

Can you tell where it is coming from . is it from the fan itself ?

when i take the outer cover off the inner one covers evrything, only thing visable is the flame window. no way of telling where the noise comes from. Have to go to work now, will cut leccy ,take cover off and have a clean out, re connect leccy and see if i can see what is clicking. thanks

Customer: Took the inner cover off and cleaned the burner and the heat exchange(?) the damn thing wouldnt malfunction, just worked normally

thanks help, will have to get a pro in next time it buggers up. just out of interest what do you think it could be? its working fine today but most mornings it lights, burns enough to heat rads then goes out and continually trys to relight before it works.

Could be the either fan and or air pressure switch. Or PCB . if you have a multimeter the fans can be tested on ohms . hope its ok while any how , all the best
