Re Philco fridge freezer Door open alarm starts every time

Customer Question

Re Philco fridge freezer
Door open alarm starts every time the door has been opened although it is properly closed and the indication lights are showing correct temperature. Have emptied and thoroughly cleaned and both compartments seem to be working correctly.

JACUSTOMER-qli67mpy- :

JACUSTOMER-qli67mpy- :

item was purchased in march 2012

George-Allsorts :

I can't see that number you have typed... can you type it again with a # ***** preceding the number

JACUSTOMER-qli67mpy- : #101200018
JACUSTOMER-qli67mpy- :

serial number

George-Allsorts :

Thank you for that.. Let me see if the documentation is available... One moment please

George-Allsorts :

Ok.. I have looked for the documentation for your product, but as with many Philco imports there is no documentation available..

I will have to give you some information at the ways that these things work to assist you and then opt out to see if someone can assist better than I...

Normally, there will be a door switch at the side of the open door.. One that switches on the light. Sometimes this switch will go faulty and if this switch is the cause it will need replacing. Sometimes there is a reed switch operated by a magnet which is normally fitted at some point into the door frame.. This is also a possibility.

I will now opt out, but I will be here if you need me.. If you need me just ask.

JACUSTOMER-qli67mpy- :

Thanks - Had already worked out that the switch was the problem, as you have confirmed, but where can I purchase the correct replacement and is it easy to fit. Can't find a web site for spare parts

George-Allsorts :

Information available to me tells me that the direction you need to go for assistance with any technical or spare parts for this product is the Indesit Group
