Michael :

Hi Brian, how old is your cooker?

Michael :

Also when does it blow at the mains?

Michael :

DO you need to turn something on?

Expert:  George-Allsorts replied 3 years ago.

Hello Brian, my name is George..

If as you say, the consumer unit is tripping immediately that you switch the cooker on at the wall with nothing turned on then you have one of a couple of faults and need the services of an appliance engineer

1. An earth fault on an element that requires replacement
2. A short fro live or neutral to earth
3. A faulty supply cable
4. A fault in the terminal box of the appliance

Let me know your postcode if you would like me to find you an appropriate engineer
