Hi, my name is ***** ***** I have been in the home improvement and repair field for 20 years. I will be very glad to help you today. There is a bleed valve on the pump itself. It is a small hex screw at about 7 o'clock on the bottom of the face of the pump. Have some rags ready also.

Does a hex screw look like a nut
Not really. It is a screw with a hexagon shape slot in the middle.
