Jandy Clormatic III Model CMATIC 1400. The warning lights

This answer was rated:

Jandy Clormatic III Model CMATIC 1400. The warning lights are indicating I need to add salt and a service.I added salt yesterday and turned the chlorine production down to 00 using Button B,as per the instructions.I believe the salt level to be correct now using an independent test, but on pressing Button A to return the chlorine production to 15% it remains at 00 and I suspect it is not producing chlorine. Your advice please.
Hi and thank you for choosing Just Answer.
I am Tech Michael and I will be assisting you today.
Please be patient as these are technical questions that may require a bit of conversation to solve. Also remember to be detailed in your description of the problem. That will help me make a diagnosis quickly for you.
How old is your Clormatic III?
Also is yours the one that plugs in or just the battery operated version?
Thank you
Tech Michael

It plugs in and I estimate it is about 10 years old

Thanks for that information.
Try a reset on this. Unplug the unit for 1 full hour and then plug it back in. Let me know if that makes a difference and the unit will work correctly.
If it does great then please rate my service kindly at that time. But if it still acts the same do not rate yet but simply reply to me for further information, I will also do some further research for you in the meantime;-)
Thank you and have a great afternoon.

Michael, I have just plugged it back in and there appwears to be no change, although perhaps I should have waited a few minutes? It is still showing "add salt" and "service." and the screen is showing "00" When I pressed the temperature Button D it shows 172 and 186..I think I must trouble you for more advice! Stanton.

Thanks for trying that reset Stanton, I was afraid of that. It means the unit would need parts;-(
The trouble is its age and most of the older parts for this model have been sold off. But... I happen to know the guy who bought the;-) lol.
I will give him a shout and should know if he still has the sensor you will need to replace, I will help you with the replacement if you need no additional cost to you Stanton.
Please give me until Tuesday for a response from him and send me a message if you don't hear from me before then.
I will stick with you until your unit is working correctly, You can always get in touch with me if you need further assistance after rating. It won't cost you anything additional to rate;-)
Please rate my service kindly thus far, it is the only way I receive credit for my time with you;-)
Thank you and have a great Sunday Stanton!
