Hello, my name is George..

If the appliance is not switched on but is tripping the circuit breaker then you have a problem with the socket, the plug, the cable to the appliance, the interference capacitor, or the cable to the next power juncture before the operation switch...

Think of it this way; what part of the appliance is powered before the actual switch.

Where is the interference capacitor?

Where your cable comes into the appliance, it passes the outer casing and is then always connected to a capacitor or an interference circuit board before continuing into the appliance...

Remember also, that a cable can break or short circuit inside the actual outer cable before reaching the appliance.
