Our cat pulled open the door on the freezer of our fridge freezer, model ZRB224NXO, and it was left open all night. It now does not work properly. It takes ages to freeze ice cubes! What can we do?
Hi What you will find is the freezer evaporator will have built up too much ice behind the panel and it stops the air flow. For this you have 2 options. Either fully empty the freezer and remove the back panel inside the freezer fully to expose the evaporator and use a hair dryer and fully melt all the ice in there. Then refit the panels and that will cure it. But if you don't want to go removing panels then you need to empty the freezer and turn it off for 24 hours and leave the freezer door open, This will allow the ice in there to melt away itself. Then retry it and that will get it back to normal again from there. If you need anymore info just get back to me. Regards
