Hi there.Icurrently have a fitted gas fire which I wish to keep as a "fall back". Itis neither economical or efficient. I am interested in having a Dimplex Optimist fitted in front of it (there is room on the hearth) but wonder if it can be done safely. Your advice would be appreciated

If the complex is a gas fire then , no, as the new fire would have to sit right back in the fireplace. Look into clueless gas fires, that may work
