No light on my CDA 494 dishwasher - used this morning with no problem. Now seems dead.

Ok stupid question this might be but have you checked the power supply and the fuse to the dishwasher?

If not then try it in another plug socket that you know works and see what happens from there.

But if you have already done this or that doesnt cure it then what you need to do is remove the outer wooden door panel.
Thne remove the metal outer door and from there you will see the wires going into the plastic holder.

Make sure its unplugged and then open the plastic casing and inspect the wires in there. Give each one a tug and see if any have broken. Check the thicker blue wires first as these like to break in there and this stops the power going to the board at the top and lighting up. If there is a broken wire then you need to repair it and see how it goes from there.

Check them out first and see what you find and let me know.

Daniel, There was a bang and a big spark came from the door hinge area and all the electrics tripped. l have isolated the dishwasher from the board and turned everything back on. l think it is time for a new dishwasher.

Ok if there was a spark from the door then its going to be a broken wire in there. As over time with the door opening and closeing the wires can break and sometimes short out like it has.

Possibley wirth checking just incase its a broken wire only. But if the wire is fixed and its still not lighting up then its blown the control board and this isnt worth fixing as the parts are very expensive on these as they are made by Whirlpool.
