Hotpoint washer model wmpf843 door will not open. this machine

This answer was rated:

hotpoint washer model wmpf843 door will not open. this machine was heavily loaded and after the wash the door would not open. the mahine seems to strugle to drain but will do a spin and a fast spin. the door lock will always stay on no matter what cycle is selected. if you select a wash cycle the machine will pump out but will not take water and seems to stop the cycle without putting water in and the motor does not turn. even if the machine plug is removed and reconnected the door lock light will be on all the time.
HiNear the filter is a green plastic tab. U clip this from the cabinet and pull the tag down and at the same time pull the door handle and see if the door opens then.If so then you can check to see if the washer is full of water and if so drain it out from the filter. Once the water is out then close the door and see if it locks itself straight away. If so then try a spin cycle and see what happens. Do you get any flashing lights from it?Let me know what happens.Regards

hi there. the door does open manually. there is no water in the drum that i can see. when you set a drain cycle the water pomps out when you pour it in the soap drawer. i would say the pump does struggle a bit but does seem to drain. when you set a spin cycle it does go into a high spin. when you set a wash cycle it pumps out but never puts water in and drum does not turn. there are no flashing lights and the door lock key stays on all the time. it is there even if you unplug the machine and turn it back on.

Ok this may be down to a faulty door lock. As locks on these like to play up.

Test the door lock and see if faulty. Remove the lock and you will see 3 tags. Test between the 3 tags and you should get a reading between 2 of them. If you dont then the door lock is the fault and will need to be replaced.

But if the lock is fine and it still wont start or unlock and its not giving an error code then its possibley the control board at fault. As its really only either the door lock or the control board that can cause a fault and doesnt give an error code on the front control.

hi there. i bought a board for this on ebay as new and fitted it. the door lock made a fast open close action and now the machine comes up with a f09 fault. can you please help me with this as i was not intending on putting a new board in this washer.

F09 is a programming fault on the control board. As you have fitted a brand new board then its blank and thats why its showing the F09 code.

Im afraid all you can do is either return it or buy the programming kit which is a hardware key and a smart card which has the programming software on it.

But to buy the hardware key this is about £120 and the smart card is £30 so given the prices of them its more then the washer is worth.

Im sure if sent a link in the past were you can get refurbised boards that come programmed up. Click here for the site.
