Customer Question

we have a TURBOmax VUW242/1E282/1E the ignition sequence will not complete .
it appears there has been a leak from badly adjusted pressure valve. the lower indicator hand appears not to be working and seems to be static around the 4 mark. DO WE re-fill the system ( if so how ) or give up and call someone who knows what their doing.
It did stop functioning briefly last week but after a couple of attempts went through the reset process and ignited. I thought it was the wind ( the room is draughty and presumably a blow back is possible via the ventilation tube in high winds ) there hasn't been a significant drop in wind since. Do I give up and call the engineer ? Rick BS8 3AE

Hi, there seems to be a few things wrong with it. The pressure gauge, the ignition sequence problem could be the air pressure switch which open when the fan runs and starts ignition. However if you want to run it on a temporary basis whilst waiting for an engineer, then run the hot tap and fill the boiler by the filling loop. When or if the boiler fires, then there's enough water in the system, so stop filling

As soon as the pressure switch operates hopefully the boiler will fire. Check outside on the wall the boiler is on for water drippi g from the safety pipe. This would indicate an issue with the expansion vessel
