We have an Amana fridge freezer. Model SRD522. The door handles

Customer Question

We have an Amana fridge freezer. Model SRD522. The door handles are "t bar" with 4 mountings and run the full height of the door. The fridge handle is loosening. How may the handle be tightened or removed and re-fixed?

If you have the T bar handle then look at the small piece that's attached to the door that the handle presses against.
On the underside of each of them is a small hole.
In there is a grub screw. Its a small Alan key head.
Loose these on the small bars and then when loose enough you can remove them main handle from there.
Then you will see a screw in the centre of the small bracket attached to the door. Tighten them up but don't over tighten them as it can damage the screw hole on the door itself and then its a new door.
Once them brackets are tight refit the handle and tighten the Alan key screws up and that should be done.
Try that and see how it goes and let me know.

There are no Alan key grub screws. The entire door skin has to be removed to give access. We separately arranged for an engineer to atend to the job. Regards.
