Customer Question

have a neff induction hob - school ceran; about 6 years old. stopped working yesterday - tried various things suggested on web. Power off, power back on, hold start down etc etc (It is not locked). Cleaned - nb the hob is always cleaned after use. There is no moisture in it.
There are 6 "red dashes" which come on every 30-45 seconds - 4 around the magnetic selector knob for each of the 4 hob positions and 2 by the timer to the right. The manual doesn't mention any of this in the trouble shooting info.

Neff Model: E-nr T43T20NO/01
FD 8902 0043Electricity is clearly getting through so it is not completely dead. It won't switch on with the main switch (first on the left of the hob) . Have turned off at the mains and then after 10 mins switched on as suggested by the Manual. The only LED lights which come on are 6 dash like ones (they all look like this "-" but without the " "). 4 of them are by the control for each of the 4 hob heat settings and the other 2 are showing at the time program function (clock face button). They come on every 35-40 secs and all flash 4 times....then nothing, then repeats flashing after 35-40 secs and so on.We have had no problems with it for last year, always meticulously cleaned after use, always used correct pans etc The lock function has never been used. Manual says malfunctions are generally caused by minor faults, hope so!

are you sure it is the control board? how much are they, roughly?
Expert:  Michael replied 2 years ago.
Hi yep I'm pretty sure. These will fail eventually and yours seemed to last quite a long time lol. Its just that these boards work hard to perform this way;-)As for price, I would give the supplier I sent a call as they change quite a bit. but it is worth the repair part cost considering the cost of a new Induction HOB.Please don't forget to rate! Once you do, I will send you a reply so you will know how to get in touch with me when you have the part ;-) Have a great day. Tech Michael
