I have a zanussi WDA 1055 w washer dryer which drains most

Customer Question

I have a zanussi WDA 1055 w washer dryer which drains most of the water but enough is left in to stop the door from opening. Have already replaced the timer switch which seemed to have fixed the problem but it has now returned. if we keep running the machine through wash cycles eventually it will drain as it should. Is this likely to be a problem with the drain pump or just a blockage?

I assume you have checked the filter is clear? If not open the square door at the bottom right and remove the filter and give it a good clean out.
If that's all ok then the you need to check the waste hose. If it goes under a sink remove the hose from the spigot it pushes onto and check theres no blockages in there.
If that's all clear then you need to pull the washer out and lean it backwards against a wall and have someone hold for you.
Then lie down and look under the washer and there you will see a black hose going from the drum to the pump. This is the sump hose. Remove it from both ends and check for a blockage in there and clear it out.
Once clear refit it and see how it goes. Fingers crossed this cures it. As if it is draining very slow then its going to be a blockage in there so check them as the blockage will be either the filter/pump the drain hose or the sump hose. So check them and see what you find and let me know.

I have had the 2 drain hoses from the drum off and both were clogged solid so I have cleared them. I can see that the plastic inlet to the drain pump is also clogged so I would like to remove the entire pump and plastic inlet to clea/npossibly replace. The pump is held in by some large snap plastic clips which I have released but there is a galvanised steel piece against the white front of the machine which is in the way. How do I remove the pump?

Hi What I have done is uploaded the service manual for you as it shows how to remove it. Now its not the easyist thing to remove the plastic snap clips underneath usually break but don't worry if they do as it wont make a difference to it. The service manual does a few different models but you will be able to wok it out from there. If you need anymore info just get back to me. Regards
