Michael, Please can you help. I have a NEFF B6774N0GB

Customer Question

Hi Michael,
Please can you help. I have a NEFF B6774N0GB Combi oven. Grill and Oven functions works fine, But, problem Microwave function.
In microwave function, after approx three seconds it displayed "E10" on the clock displays and "MW Fault Acknowledge with STOP" on the orther displays.
I am quite a practical person with some electronics background. So far I have :
1) opened the casing (top, sides and back.
2) Put my (digital) multi meter probes to the mains input terminals on the inverter module.
3) Observed that there are 240V coming into the inverter board for 3 seconds or so.
Please can you guide me forward from here?.

Hi Chu,does the microwave sound any different than it did when it was working correctly? Also what do you need to do to make it run again for a few seconds? Also how old is your microwave?ThanksTech Michael

Hi Michael,Thanks for getting back.I don't know much about its history (age and what it sounds like before) as I was given it by a friend hoping that I can fix it.To make it run again for 3 further seconds - I have to press the "STOP" button to acknowledge the "MW fault" as per error message displayed. Then select any one of the microwave power settings followed by "start" button.BTW, I forgot to mention in my previous post that. I also followed instructions on YouTube on testing the Magnetron - resistance between the two input terminal is .3Ohm and betwen terminals and body casing is O.L (open loop). Indicating Magnetron still OK(?).

Hi good morning, Thats great. The problem you seem to have is the start / run capacitor and its accompanying diode. Both parts are pretty cheap and that shoudl solve the issue. I always replace the diode no matter how it tests with a meter when i replace the cap;-) Its a good thing to do so both parts are good and one wont hurt the other. The best place to get those two parts is: woudl call them for these parts the diode and the electrolytic capacitor. Please call:Sales0844 9777 888After sales0333 4007 888Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, Closed Saturday and Sunday. For security and training purposes, telephone calls may be recorded or monitored. In any case, I will stick with you until this is complete. Please rate my service thus far.EXCELLENT (5 Stars) would be greatly appreciated. There is NO cost to rate Kindly;-)Also it is the only way I am credited for my time and expertise with you.Once you rate, I will be notified and will add your question to my priority list so you can reach me anytime until this problem is solved. Then you can reach me by simply replying to this message anytime.Thank you and have a great Sunday!Tech Michael
