BOSCH PKN811E14E HOB. Elec Ceramic (Blackl Glass Frameless)
When power applied I get 4 horizontal dashes (Like hyphens) flashing alongside each plate symbol. Touching the On button makes no difference . I switched the power off left it 10 minutes and switched on again - horizontal dashes now flash faster? Any ideas please.
Hi Ok this what you can try if you havent already is turn the power off and leave it for 30 minutes as sometimes 10 minutes isnt long enough to allow the componments on the board to discharge themselves. Then try it and see how it goes from there. If that doent work then you need to remove the hob from the work top and turn it over and there you will see the mains connection were the power cable goes to. Open this and check in there for burning and if so this needs to be replaced. But if after all the above its still the same then you are looking at a faulty control board here. As to be honest in these hobs there isnt much in there. You have the mains connection box, the main power board and 4 heaters. Now the heaters wont cause this fault here so try the above and see what you find. If you need anymore info just get back to me. Regards

Hi - well I have taken the bottom off and had a look - The appliance is 17months old and looks as good as it did at the show room. No sign of burning on any wires or the Control Board - I suspected control board but dont have test details - even though I have equipment to test it. And yes I left power swiched off for over 1 hour made no difference .
Thanks for your help , appreciated - please confirm I have only paid £16 and NOT paid for any further consultations
Regards David
Ok this will be the control board here. But if you say the hob is only 17 months old then it will be still under warrenty as all Bosch appliances have a minimum 2 year warrenty. So give them a bell tomorrow and they should come out and repair it for free. As to the money side once you rate the answer you will make the payment and it is only the £16 you agreeded to nothing more. So if you could rate the answer this will close the question down. Many thanks
