Indesit dishwasher DFG 15B1, salt light came on, added salt

This answer was rated:

Indesit dishwasher DFG 15B1, salt light came on, added salt but light still on, will get part way through cycles and then stop

Good afternoon my name is ***** ***** I will assist with your query today.

When the dishwasher stops mid cycles is it just the salt light which comes on, are there any other lights which come on or flash?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
the power light is on and green

no sorry the power light is amber, the green light is next to what looks like a fan

Ok this would normally suggest a temperature fault, to troubleshoot the best thing to do is run it through a rinse \ pre-wash cycle (as this doenst heat the water).

Please let me know if the dishwasher stops mid cycle when set to pre-wash (option 5)

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok Ive just set it to run

It should take 10 minutes so let me know how it goes.

That cycle finished as normal with a green light on 'End'

This proves the inlet, circulation and drain pumps are all working, so most certainly is an issue with the element.

A replacement element is around £50 from here, they are not the easier items to replace, for this reason would suggest you arrange an engineer to attend to replace it for you.

If you provide me with your postcode I can recommend an engineer in your area.

I would suggest you use ADAS on 01622 245196.

They can get to you by Monday, the call out charge is £25 where the fault will be confirmed and from there give you a quote for repair. My guess is your looking at around £100 including parts and call out.

Thanks I will give them a call. Is there a reference or anything to quote?

No reference number, they are just a local engineer who I have used previously and trust to give you good service.

Appreciate if you can rate the service received.
