I have an AEG washer dryer which I bought about a year ago.

Customer Question

I have an AEG washer dryer which I bought about a year ago. It has stopped heating the water so is only washing in cold water. The dryer is working fine.
JA: Do you know the model of your AEG washer-dryer?
Customer: I've got the user manual with me which has the following on it
JA: How long has this been going on with your AEG washer-dryer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Sorry - pressed send too soon! L61472WDBI
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just this week. I did use a 'cold' wash for a jumper and think it may have been since then but can't be 100%. It's the only time I've ever used a cold wash which is why it sticks in the memory. I have turned off the appliance at the mains and back on again in case it needed re-setting but that hasn't worked.

Hi. There are no error codes or flashing lights at all (I've had them before when the water wouldn't drain but nothing this time). It's basically operating normally but the water isn't heating up.

OK, it seems the thermostat might have tripped, please check this IMAGE.

You will have to unplug it and pull it out, then remove the top off the appliance.

Then check part#3, if it has a RED reset button press it, if that one has a small hole take a pin and press to reset it.

After that is done, reconnect everything and plug it back.

Now check if everything works fine.

If the problem is still there, you will have to test part#3 and part#48 for continuity.

Replace the part that is faulty.

However, looking at the age of appliance reset should help.

Let me know how it goes.
