Hi i have a Neff Dishwasher model S5943X2GB. The dishwasher is not filling with water. When i try to run a cycle a small bit of water enters but the programme is not running i.e. the sprinklers are not running. When i reset the water empties and ends. Any suggestions of what might be happening?
JA: How old is your Neff dishwasher? Have you replaced the inlet valve before, and if so, how long ago?
Customer: its about 12 years old and no i have replaced the inlet valve before
JA: How long has this been going on with your Neff dishwasher? What have you tried so far?
Customer: sorry have not replaced the inlet valve
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just stopped working yesterday. I have disconnect the dishwasher and clean the outlet valve. It sounds like the side tanks are filling up but the water is just not being released into the dishwasher.

When it stops working if you open the door do you get the tap light flashing or lit up when it does this?

Hi. Only the selected programme is lit when i open the door. thanks

Ok when it stops filling if you listen carefully at the bottom do you hear a slight humming noise?

Customer: replied 7 months ago.
also a clicking noise as if the programme is trying to kick in..... sorry i'm not technical!

Ok when the water goes in what should happen then is the wash motor kicks in to spray the water around then it starts to fill with more water.

So if it fills a bit then stops and theres a humming noise then it could be the wash motor as when these stops running it gives a humming noise because it cannot run.

If you are looking at fixing this yourself then you need to remove the right hand side panel and there you will see the wash motor at the bottom left corner.

Check to see if the humming noise is coming from there. If it is then its the wash motor and that will need to be replaced.

But its not a cheap fix and given its 12 years if the motor is faulty then it may not be worth fixing im afraid.

ok. thank you i'll investigate that.

Hopefully you sort it from there.
