ive just paid £16 for the phone call...?
Expert:  Gavin replied 15 days ago.

It's probably easier for you if I type you directions on what to do rather than a phone call. Don't worry if you don't have the call you won't get charged for it

Expert:  Gavin replied 15 days ago.

If you'd rather a call I'll opt out to allow another expert to do this. Let me know what you would prefer

Many thanks

Gavin

i have the top and sides off. not sure if i need all the screws off the back plate. The pulley was loose as the tension spring had come loose out of its holding place. Maybe why the belt snapped?
Expert:  Gavin replied 15 days ago.

Ok great you're already well on your way then.

There's a black tensioning wheel on the motor just check that it runs true and isn't worn at all in the centre as it's common on these models

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
it looks ok. it moves left or right along its metal spindle
Expert:  Gavin replied 15 days ago.

Great

Expert:  Gavin replied 15 days ago.

Remove the covers that attach to the back panel which will expose the drum bearing and shaft.

Remove the circlip and bearing

If you haven't already remove the screws that hold the metal struts onto the top corners of the back panel

Now slide the belt between the belt and back panel

Put belt over the motor shaft

Pull motor back so you can slide belt onto tension wheel

Let me know how you get on and if you need any more detail

do you have illustrations for these steps?
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
i have removed the plastic back cover that attaches to the metal back plate. There are just two screws that are where the centre of the drum is. there is a lower that has about 10 screws. then about 8 screws that go round the edge if the back plate. i can send over a photo if tht helps?
