Understood, this is known as the fuel bed.

As the fault is likely to be argued it was down to delivery (rather than malfunction) Dimplex wouldnt cover it under warranty, so unlikely to be able to send you a new fuel bed out.

You can certainly ask the warranty line opens at 8.30 tomororw their number is 0344 879 35 88.

For this reason I would suggest you contact the retailer (Costco) and get them to send you a new fire, when it arrives you can then just open the box and swap out the faulty part tap it back up and hand it back to the courier.
