Kenwood K20MSS15 Solo Microwave lights up the display when

This answer was rated:

Hi. Kenwood K20MSS15 Solo Microwave lights up the display when plugged in but light goes out after 5-10 sec. Assume a faulty component but wonder if economical to repair?
Assistant: What's the microwave's make and model? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Bought in 2016 Kenwood K20MSS15 Solo Microwave
Assistant: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Only if it was very straightforward like replacing a board. Don't know how to test beyond checking the fuse.
Assistant: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: It's in decent condition and has been totally reliable up to now. It's still on sale for around £65 so suspect calling out an engineer is going to be more than it's worth. Wondered if it was a known issue that has an easy fix.

Im afraid its not even worth getting it fixed as a call out is roughly £50 then parts which given the fault you have if its going off after 10 seconds of pluging it in then its more then likely the control board which is roughly about £80.

So given the cost of parts and labour you can nearly 2 of these microwaves so not worth fixing at all im afraid.
