I have an AEG75480. I can set a washing or drying cycle but when it starts the machine reverts to 1 minute e.g cottons wash which should take 2hr 50 will only run for 1 minute.
JA: What's the brand and model of your appliance? How old is it?
Customer: AEG L75480, probably 4 years old
JA: How long has this been going on with your AEG appliance? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Both washing and drying programs
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: What would be the rough cost of a repair?

Welcome to Justanswer … my name is Kevin and I will help you today!

Set it on a rinse/spin only cycle and let me know how it goes.

As other programs, it runs for just one minute and then shuts off.

Have you seen any errors/flashing lights ?

Customer: replied 4 days ago.
I would prefer to deal with this by email.
Customer: replied 4 days ago.
No error messages or flashing lights.

OK, can you unplug it and remove the lower front flap.

Then clean the drain pump filter completely.

Then try a rinse/spin only cycle and let me know how it goes.

Hi Kevin,
many thanks for your help.
I have followed your instructions. The filter is not blocked and running the rise /spin cycle illicits the same response as the other cycles - it shows the running times, but then reverts to one minute.
Any suggestions?

OK, lets see if we can get an error code out of it.

Try this:

1. Switch off the appliance.

2. Press and hold down the START/PAUSE button and the nearest OPTION button simultaneously.

3. Holding down both buttons, turn the programme selector one position clockwise.

4. Continue to hold down the buttons until the LEDs begin to flash.

5. Then let go off the buttons, let me know the error code displayed.

6. If not error code is displayed; Count the number of Yellow flashes and then number of RED flashes, and let me know.

7.Then turn it back off.

Hi Kevin, I can't get the LEDs to flash, so there is no error message. Also no flashing red and yellow LEDs.
Any suggestions?

OK Peter.

This indicates motor is faulty and will need replacement.

The error code is not displayed so the control should be checked as well.

The cost of repair will be around £250 including repair charges.

Thanks Kevin for your help on this.
Given the repair cost, I think I will buy a new washer/dryer.
