Hi. I have a Hotpoint Ultima W640 washing machine and I put a load of washing on this morning. The electrical circuit it is on tripped part way through the wash and now it will not finish the cycle. The door will open, there is water in the machine, I can cancel the programme and choose a different one. When I press 'START' though it looks like it is going to work but sits there showing just the time for the programme to run and then the screen starts flashing 'door'.
JA: Is your Hotpoint washer top or front loading? How old is it?
Customer: Front loading. It's probably 10 years old.
JA: How long has this been going on with your Hotpoint washer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just today. I've tried turning it off and on, unplugging it at the mains and leaving for over half an hour, shutting the door more firmly.

WT640 is correct model number.

Please check this IMAGE (part#210 is the door interlock).

The door interlock is faulty and will need replacement.

Control detects door is open due to faulty interlock hence, it wont either start the cycle or the wash cycle will keep on stopping.

The part is available HERE for £16 + repair charges.
