This answer was rated:

Hi I've Hi
JA: What's the brand and model of your appliance? How old is it?
Customer: my printer gives the message that cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP ink. What does this mean please? And it is refusing to print
JA: How long has this been going on? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I haven't had the printer long. I used one cartridge of ink and have just replaced them with new ones. We got a few pages of printing and then it stopped.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: we are trying to print from 2 separate devices. Both have been fine before

Hi

My name is ***** ***** I can help.

I am not an HP user but a colleague of mine has directed me to this link which I feel answers your question. It seems that the cartridge being used is the issue.

Thankyou. However this link directs me to HP support in USA. I need to register for Instant Ink with HP before my printer will work. Apparently. When I follow the link it asks for my delivery address and as it's American will not accept my UK address. So.... I need to get through to HP Support in the UK. It's not simple. Thanks

Hi. Thankyou. This link takes me to HP support in USA. I need to register with HP for the UK. When the US register asks for my address it will not accept the UK address. Can you help

Hi

This is the UK link.

Good Luck, Kind regards

Thanks. But that still takes me to the US site. This is not really working. Regards
Richard

Yep. Thanks. Get it. But when I follow that link it only goes to the American site. It will not accept my UK address for delivery therefore I cannot complete my registration for Instant Ink and therefore my printer will not work. Nightmare

I,m confused!

I have just signed up with them and everything went through smoothly?

The telephone number they give is a UK number based in berkshire.

https://instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en/l/?jumpid=in_r11549_hpsupport_ii2_consumerinstantink_071014

clicked on sign up now and it takes me here

https://instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en/n/web_enroll/plans?jumpid=in_r11549_hpsupport_ii2_consumerinstantink_071014

clicked op one of the packages and it takes me here

https://login.id.hp.com/login-ui/sign-up

filled out the details on the right and it took me here

https://instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en/n/web_enroll/shipping

Address etc details with UK postcode.

Does this help?

Kind regards

Paul

thanks. Well it is strange. The final link takes me through to the Shipping Address in UK. This is great. The others only link to US site.... so I'm unsure if I have actually signed up with the Instant Ink. I filled in a form previously on the US site but stumbled at the Shipping address as you know. Also .... when I put in my UK address then go to click Save & Continue a red message comes up saying I need to verify my address. I have no idea what this means or how to do it. Sorry, this does seem complicated

If I click on the first link it takes me to sign up. When I click on sign up it takes me to a page with Plan Options and they are all in dollars. Is this the same for you? Richard

Hi Richard,

If you click on my first link (this one)

https://instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en/l/?jumpid=in_r11549_hpsupport_ii2_consumerinstantink_071014

It takes you to the UK (Union Flag Top Right Corner) page, click on sign up and it takes you to the page that shows the plans available in sterling, (this one)

https://instantink.hpconnected.com/uk/en/n/web_enroll/plans?jumpid=in_r11549_hpsupport_ii2_consumerinstantink_071014

Kind regards

Hi. Thanks again. I've followed those links and it's still the same though. The flag is the US flag and the currency is in dollars! For me. I'm wondering if there's something to do with the settings on my computer or browser? I dunno! But it definitely still takes me to the US site. Bad news sorry!

Hi Richard,

If you were to clear your browsing history and restart your pc/laptop then any reference to your previous searches will be cleared.

Then try this... type in hp instant ink UK to google. Then click on the link which refers directly to UK instant ink which shows

this instantink.hpconnected.com>uk

Click on that and it takes you to the UK sign now page.

Hi. I'm sorry. I've done all that exactly. It still takes me to US page. I don't know what else you can try really.

Hi,

How about trying it on a different device ie. a smartphone? or another laptop/pc?

Kind regards

Paul

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
ok I'll try my phone
Customer: replied 7 days ago.
Nope. No good on the phone either. I guess that's it. Maybe I should just get a different printer. Or write a letter with a pencil! If you have any other ideas let me know. Thanks for what you've done Richard

Hi Richard,

Well I can say honestly, I have never come across that before.

Why not call the number on the website 0207(###) ###-#### (based 5 miles from me) , not quite pen and paper but a telephone!

Kind regards

Paul
