Have Tricity Bendix Hob NH321W and looking to replace but all new replacements are bigger. want to remove current unit without damaging and after removing screw unit will not lift out. from this i am assuming the seal has developed into a glue and will need wedge to remove, is this a problem with an old unit like this
JA: Is your hob gas or electric? How old is it?
Customer: Electric
JA: How long has this been going on with your hob? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Hve just removed the 2 screws and tried to lift out yesterday
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Only that unit has been in curent location 25 yers plus

Yes, these old hobs can weld themselves to the work top as over time grease builds up on the seal between the glass top and the work top,

So what i do is remove the clamps from underneath of the hob.

Then push it upwards on one side and at the same time get a knife and run this under the glass top to cut the seal and then it normally breaks the seal from there and you can then remove the hob from there.
