The door on my main oven will no longer close - I can’t see

Customer Question

The door on my main oven will no longer close - I can’t see what the problem is.
JA: Is your oven gas or electric? How old is it?
Customer: It is gas and around 12 years old
JA: How long has this been going on with your oven? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It happened about 2 weeks ago - I haven’t done anything. The cooker is insured but I cannot get anyone to come, they have cans 3 times
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I think the catch where it locks may need replacing

Can you post the make and model number please.

Also then are you looking at fixing this yourself?

Rangemaster model Classic 110. If the tsk is simple I will certainly try to replace the part. I think it’s the lock
Expert:  Daniel replied 1 year ago.

Thanks for that.

The most common thing to cause this on these Rangemasters is the roller door catch breaks.

This is the part inside the door.

Replace the door catch if you can and hopefully that will sort it from there for you.
