My beko washing machine is stuck on a cycle. It hums like

This answer was rated:

my beko washing machine is stuck on a cycle. It hums like it's about to start, but never does. I've managed to open it, but turning it back on again turns the timer back to 1:24 and the same noise. Thanks
JA: Is your Beko washer top or front loading? How old is it?
Customer: front loading, 5-10 years old
JA: How long has this been going on with your Beko washer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: first time, I've tried holding the start button for 5 seconds, nothing happens, pressing it once doesn't pause it. tried turning it off for a few minutes which released the door lock, but turning it back on led back to 1:24 and the hum.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: it's WMB71642W if that helps

Have you seen any error codes/flashing lights?

Where is the hum sound coming from ?

Have you already cleaned the drain pump filter ?

Please DO NOT ACCEPT the PHONE CALL request.

That is auto generated and not sent by me.

No error codes, but the Play symbol (right facing triangle) is flashing. hum sound is the same as it makes as it's just about to start. i haven't cleaned the filter.

no thanks to the phone call

OK, unplug it and remove the lower front panel.

Clean the drain pump filter and ensure it is not clogged.

Then plug it back and select a empty rinse/spin cycle.

Let me know how it goes.

If you ask a follow‑up question and I do not respond immediately, it is because I am temporarily unavailable.
