After it finished the wash on the usual 000, we switched it off then we noticed the daily and the hour minute started to flash on 1:10 continuously. We are unable to switch it off except by disconnecting the power. Help!
JA: What's the brand and model of your appliance? How old is it?
Customer: Siemens 9000 406. 612 (8812). Quite old 10 to 15 years
JA: How long has this been going on with your Siemens appliance? What have you tried so far?
Customer: just noticed today, tried all the controls
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No previous problem
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
We are waiting thank you

Hi,

Welcome to Justanswer … my name is ***** ***** I will help you today!

Please provide its complete model number (from the label/rating plate inside the door) starts with E nr

Please DO NOT ACCEPT the PHONE CALL request.

That is auto generated and not sent by me.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Unfortunately it’s illegible

OK can you attach an image of the control here ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
The number on the summary sheet is 9000 397 677

OK however, I am unable to find anything with that number.

The image of control will help.

What type of appliance is it, washing machine or dishwasher ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
How would you like to receive the photo?

Send it here ...

If you are on a computer, use the blue document with up arrow symbol by the SEND to load Images/Photos/Pictures.

You have to write a word in the message box like "Pic 1"

then choose only ONE picture then send.

It will not let you do several at once.

On mobile phone, you should be able to respond to a text with pictures.

ONLY ADD ONE AT A TIME.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It is a dishwasher

Thanks for that.

Try this:

You will have to unplug the appliance and pull it out.

Then tip it backwards by around 45 degrees so excess water drains off completely.

After this is done, check the drain hose where it connects to house drain and make sure it is not clogged.

Then clean the mesh filter from inside and make sure it is not blocked.

Reconnect everything and plug it back.

Then select any program and let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Have you received it?
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It came back to normal so we did a trial run and unfortunately it stopped and gone back to flashing.
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It won’t switch off
Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Any suggestions ?

Sorry was away for few minutes.

Have you received my message and have you tried what was advised ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
we did, we explained that it is still flashing

OK, so as soon as you plug it back it turn on ?

What exactly keeps on running?

Which lights are flashing ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
We can switch between programme setting which we couldn’t do before but the on off and start button don’t work. The programme and time buttons keep flashing simultaneously

OK, can you unplug it and pull it out.

Then remove the side panels and the bottom off the appliance.

Then towards the left you will see a plastic tank.

Clean it and ensure it is not clogged.

Reconnect everything and plug it back, let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
We don’t have a tool to unscrew only have a Philips screw diver and Allan keys. Any other suggestions

Its a 12 years old appliance (from the FD number you provided earlier).

Usually cleaning the hoses and sump solves the issue.

However, if the problem is still there it can be due to faulty pump.

Have you seen any error code when you plugged it back ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
No error code

So now when you plug it back, select a program the lights start flashing and it wont even start to fill ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
That’s right

Door gets locked ? The pump at the bottom starts running when you close the door ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Nothing happens whether the door is open or closed. No water movement. We managed to get the side panel off hence the picture, what do we do now?

Remove these hoses (check attached Image) and clean it them, the plastic tank should not have any water inside.

Then reconnect everything and plug it back.

Try again and let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
How do I detach this hose?

That should pull out to clean.

Clean as much as you can and when its done, check the float at the base and make sure it is not stuck in upright position.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
The whole unit or just the right hand tube? It has water in it

Just the tube

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Where is the float?

On top inside part of the base.

If you have cleaned it, and its dry then try it again and let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Sorry to be obtuse, but what does the float look like. Some water came from the pipe. The sump inside the machine is clean.

It depends on model number.

Check this IMAGE

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Model number is *****

Perfect, this is the float (Check IMAGE)

Part#524 in this IMAGE

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It’s on the back of the machine !

Did you check the images I sent ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
nothing corresponds. Replaced the pipe and switched on but still the same flashing pattern. Electrical fault?

Flashing lights are not even giving any error codes hence, this indicates the operating module is faulty and will need replacement.

The part is available for £56 + repair charges.

Do you have any further questions for me today ?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
How do we get that sorted ?

Replace the operating module.

Are you willing to replace it yourself ?
