Press and hold the TIMER button for around 10 seconds to unlock the control.
OK try unlock it through Basic settings.

The hob must be off.
1. Switch on the hob.
2. Within ten seconds, touch and hold the TIMER symbol for approximately three seconds.
Are you sure you have tried it exactly in same way ?
Leave it unplugged for around 20 minutes and then try again.
You may try to reset it to factory settings if you want.
If still it wont work then I am afraid the control is faulty and will need replacement.
