Appliance Repair Questions? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Good morning, and welcome to the Technical section in JustAnswer. My name is ***** ***** I will help you today. The first thing to do is turn off the power to the appliance and leave it for at least 1 hour. You need to turn off the power at the socket outlet, or isolator switch on the wall. After waiting, turn it back on again and see how it behaves, and let me know if it's still not responding._____There's no time pressure on this topic - it will stay open to you for many days, and you can reply at any time. I will be away from my desk sometimes, but will respond as soon as I can.
Please can you tell me the model number from the rating label?
Please could you confirm that your machine has a dial, not an LCD display?
OK, sorry for the delay. Bear with me - I think I will have a suggestion.
Please try the following:
Turn the dial to off.
Press and hold down together the start button and the 'extra rinse' button.
While holding, turn the Programme Dial 1 ‘click’ clockwise to the first setting.
The lights ( or digital screen ) might flash - release the buttons (the lights might then scroll).
Now turn the dial a further 9 clicks clockwise.
Note the error code displayed.
Continue turning the dial clockwise till you get to off, then turn to any program and back to off.
Let me know if the behaviour isn't as per the above procedure.
OK. I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but either the control module (aka PCB) has failed, or there's a loose connection to it. The parts cost is around £71.
You're welcome. I understand :-)
