Customer Question

We have a zanussi fridge freezer and there is a smell at the back of it we think its the drip tray but this is a new integrated fridge freezer that was built in with the new house. How can we clean it without having to remove the entire fridge freezer?

Hi, I'm Daniel welcome to JustAnswer.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your fridge. Lets see if i can help you on this.

Im afraid the only way to clean the drip tray is by removing the appliance from the unit.

As the drip tray sits on top of the compressor at the back so the only way to get at this is by removing the appliance im afraid, Sorry.

Is there nothing we can put down the drain hole just now as it must have been only a tiny bit of cream spilled down.
Expert:  Daniel replied 10 days ago.

All you can try is pore a bit of boiling water into the hole but you dont want to much as the tray isnt big and the water will overflow and leak onto the cabinet so if you see water it will be coming from the drip tray as its overfilled.

Its ok mate ive took it out, its like cheese back there

You can normall remove the tray as its clipped onto the compressor.

I hold it either side and then pull and wiggle it at the same time and it will come off from there.
