Customer Question

my washing machine stops part way through its cycle, I then have to manually dial the knob to the rinse program and then to spin. When I took the washing out it felt warmer than usual. It is a zanussi ZWF 1421W. thank you
JA: How old is your Zanussi washer? Have you checked if the drain hose is clogged?
Customer: i have checked the filter, and i am assuming the drain hose is not clogged as it does drain and empty
JA: How long has this been going on with your Zanussi washer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: it is a 2006 machine. I tried doing one more load and it did the same thing again
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I don't think so

i am not going to switch to a live call, I am skint and I have evil landlords which is why I am trying to find out as much as possible before I phone them, I would appreciate any advice you can give me , thank you.

OK, Lets see if we can get an error code.

Please try this:

Press and hold the START button and button towards the left of it together.

Keep them held in and lights will start to flash.

Count the number of times END light will flash and let me know how many.

Then count the number of times START light will flash and let me know how many.

I think 3, the washing machine tried to start, is that normal?
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 18 days ago.

Please let me know both, 3 ?

You may leave it unplugged for 5 minutes.

Then please set the dial on any program except the first one and try again.

Please tell me the answer to this question that I asked :

Count the number of times END light will flash and let me know how many.

Then count the number of times START light will flash and let me know how many.

Customer: replied 18 days ago.
all the lights flashed in sequence?!?
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 18 days ago.

I am concerned only about END and START light.

Customer: replied 18 days ago.
sorry for being a pain, i think I've done it correctly , i wasn't holding the buttons down for long enough!!
8 flashes from the end light
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 18 days ago.

No problem, so 3 at START and 8 at END , correct ?

Customer: replied 18 days ago.
2 at start 8 at end
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 18 days ago.

OK, I am afraid this is control board fault.

The control board is faulty and will need replacement.

If the appliance is too old then it may be better to replace it then to repair.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.
