This answer was rated:

I have a Zanussi zwd81463w washer/dryer, and today the spin just stopped working. I can drain the machine fine, but no spin happening.
JA: How old is your Zanussi washer? Have you checked if the drain hose is clogged?
Customer: Its approx 5 years old. I have check the hose and cleaned the filter (it wasn't dirty or clogged)
JA: How long has this been going on with your Zanussi washer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I have tried cleaning it out, draining it and spin, but no spin
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No thanks

Good evening,

My name is ***** ***** I will assist you with your appliance today.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your appliance.

I understand how frustrating that can be.

If you don’t mind, please allow me a few minutes to check its schematics and then type the answer.

In the meantime, please tell me if you have seen any error codes or flashing lights.

Hi Kevin
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
No error codes

Hello, Thank you.

Please try this:

You will have to unplug the appliance and remove the bottom front flap.

Then keep some beach towels and shallow container under the filter.

Now, rotate the drain pump filter anti clockwise to open, clean it completely and make sure it is not clogged.

Also with your fingers check if impellor rotates, then reconnect everything and plug it back.

It's as if the spin just doesnt work. I have seen the water fill up in the appliance, and I've been able to drain it again successfully but it's just not spinning. The drum turns fine by hand, so nothing impeding it there
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
I have already check the filter but it was fine and only recently cleaned
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
What is the impeller? Is that the machine's drum?

So you select a program and close the door, it will not even start to fill ?

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
It fills fine, and drains fine
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
It doesnt spin

OK, please provide its PNC number

starts with 9...

Customer: replied 17 days ago.

Thanks.

If you don’t mind, please allow me a few minutes to check its schematics and then type the answer.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Sure, thanks

OK, Lets see if we can get an error code.

Please try this:

Press and hold the START button and button towards the left of it together.

Keep them held in and after a few seconds you will see E.. ??

Please let me know the error code.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
I tried that a number of times as I saw this on a google search already, but holding the "start/pause" button with the "delay start" button, nothing happens

OK, press and hold the START button and turn the dial to one click clockwise.

Keep the button held in for several seconds then turn the dial to off and let go the button.

Do you now get any error codes ?

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
These are the buttons I have tried- nothing happened with either approach suggested
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Any other ideas?

Have you already tried this:

OK, press and hold the START button and turn the dial to one click clockwise.

Keep the button held in for several seconds then turn the dial to off and let go the button.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
nothing happened
Customer: replied 17 days ago.
Did you see the image I attached in my 3rd last message, these are the buttons I tried

Yes I saw the image however, in second message that I sent you have to try only with start button.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
I tried both suggestions a number of times now, but no error shows - nothing happens at all

If that is not working then I am afraid the drum belt and/or motor is faulty and will need replacement.

You may unplug it and remove the top off the appliance.

Then check if belt is intact, if belt is fine I am afraid the motor is faulty and will need replacement.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
That is a disaster

I understand your frustration.

Customer: replied 17 days ago.
I had already tried all of the suggestions that you mentioned in this chat. Nothing useful at all

Keep in mind, I can only give you truthful information as simply telling you only what you wish to hear but what may not necessarily be true would only hurt you.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

Have a wonderful evening.

Thank you.
