Customer Question

I have an AEG glass top 4 burner gas hob. It’s been installed now about 6 yrs, from new, no probs till yesterday!!
JA: What's the brand and model of your hob?
Customer: i have an AEG 4 burner gas hob, 6yrs. old, glass top. No probs till yesterday !! Whilst cleaning, I do it every week, I suspect water got into the underside of the on/off controls and they illuminated red regardless of control position along with ignition clicking. Using a hair dryer i dried them all out and that part is resolved.
JA: How long has this been going on with your hob? What have you tried so far?
Customer: The ignition part of the fault is still there. Can unhelp please?
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I’ve just typed about 10 lines explaining everything. Why happened to that?

Good afternoon,

My name is ***** ***** I will assist you with your appliance today.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your appliance.

I understand how frustrating that can be.

By ignition part of the fault do you mean it clicks continuously ?

Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 11 days ago.

Without the information requested in my previous response, I can only give you a general answer, but I hope this helps.

As you have already cleaned it and left it unplugged for few hours, now you hear continuous clicking, this indicates a fault with spark module (ignition transformer) that will need replacement.

As this is a gas appliance it is recommended that repair is carried out only by Gas safe engineer.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

I hope you enjoyed your experience with today.

Have a wonderful evening.
