I have an AEG oven which got overheated (turned on to 180C )

Customer Question

I have an AEG oven which got overheated (turned on to 180C ) as usual and showed a F5 signal. I could see bright red heating elects at the back of the oven.
JA: What happened just before your AEG oven displayed this message?
Customer: I had turned the oven off and it still looked very hot. After a few minutes as the oven cooled the signal F5 appeared
JA: How long has this been going on with your AEG oven? What have you tried so far?
Customer: This is the first time
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: The oven is more than 7 years old

F5 indicates a fault with electronic board that will need replacement.

However, as this fault occurred due to overheating you will have to test the thermostat and if it reads open circuit replace it.

After replacement if the error appears again you will have to replace the electronic board as well.

Are you willing to carry out replacement yourself ?

Customer: replied 7 days ago.
No I prefer a skilled person to do that. I understand the theory but do not have the skill

I understand, you may contact AEG and book a fixed price repair as that will cover parts and repair charges.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

I hope you enjoyed your experience with justanswer.co.uk today.

Have a wonderful day.

Thank you.
