i have an AEG washing machine and have noticed that when I take the washing out the machine one item in nearly every wash has a very small spot of oil on it. It does wash off by hand but can you tell me what part has developed the fault.
JA: Is your AEG washer top or front loading? How old is it?
Customer: Front loader, not sure of age.
JA: How long has this been going on with your AEG washer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: It has been going on for a few months and I havent tried anything. Had hoped it would go away but that is not going to happen
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Don't think so. Have no other issues

Sorry I am not home at present

OK, no problem, I understand.

Do you know how old is it ?

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
I am not sure would guess about 6 years. It has a 1600 spin
Customer: replied 15 days ago.
The first wash takes approx 4 and a half hours, then I think its Eco wash, or they are the other way round. The drain and spin takes 22 or 24 minutes. The machine is supposed to adjust to the weight of the load.

OK, I understand.

The door seal is fine, not worn out ?

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
No it is fine. No water leakage issues just the oil spots

OK, please try this when you get back home:

You will have to unplug the appliance and take a dry cloth, wipe inside the door, and clean the door seal.

After the cleaning is done, reconnect everything and plug it back.

Then use 2 cups of vinegar (1 in drawer and 1 in drum) or washing machine descaler and select an empty wash cycle on its hottest setting.

Please let it complete and then wait for around 1 hour before opening the door.

Now, after one hour unplug it again and then clean the drain pump filter located at the bottom front of appliance and clean the drum and door seal.

If you have ground coffee (you may pour it in a bowl/cup) and leave it for one day inside the drum.

Then next day after all this is done select another empty wash cycle on its hottest setting with washing machine descaler or detergent.

Let this complete then, leave it unplugged few hours this time with door open.

The problem should be resolved now and then you should not get any oil spots.

Please let me know how it goes.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Ok will do but it won't be till weekend. Where is the oil coming from as it is only a very tiny spot.- sometimes like a pin head.

OK sure, no problem.

Those tiny black spots are usually caused due to gunk inside the door seal or the drum.

You may try this however, if the issue appears again then the bearings are worn out and it is time to replace the appliance.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

I hope you enjoyed your experience with today.

Have a wonderful day.

Thank you.
