OK no problem, I understand.

Where is the grinding noise coming from ?

The drum or bottom of the appliance ?

And does it make these noises during wash or spin only ?

Without the information requested in my previous response, I can only give you a general answer, but I hope this helps.

The grinding noise may come from either worn out motor brushes or if drain is clogged or the bearings are worn out.

Please try this to solve the issue:

You will have to unplug the appliance and remove the bottom front flap.

Then keep some beach towels and shallow container under the filter.

Now, rotate the drain pump filter anti clockwise to open, clean it completely and make sure it is not clogged.

Also with your fingers check if impellor rotates, then reconnect everything and plug it back.

If the issue appears again, you will have to contact Bosch and check the bearings and carbon brushes for the motor.

I hope this helps, please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

I hope you enjoyed your experience with Justanswer UK today.

Have a wonderful day.

Thank you.

Is it common for cufflinks and loose change to make this intermittent grinding noise?
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 17 days ago.

Yes sometimes however, as I said, it depends from where the noise is coming from and you may want to check it by opening the appliance.

Ill get back to you after the cycle...

The drum rotates nicely so I will now pull out the machine and see if I can open it up.

Thank you for the model number.

If the FD number that you provided is correct then this appliance was manufactured in November 2008 hence, it is 13 years old.

Looking at the age of this appliance I believe this is bearing issue and it may be better to buy a new one then to spend on bearing replacement.
