Hi I have an American fridge freezer model no RS67N810S9 it’s only 2 and a half years old and when I came down stairs this morning the fridge and freezer are both not working so I’ve had to bin quite a lot of my goods….the digital screen at the top of the fridge is working so are the lights….as my husband is offshore at the moment I’m looking for a bit of advice about what could be the problem
JA: What device has a bad screen?
Customer: None it’s my fridge freezer
JA: How long have you had your RS67N810S9?
Customer: since feb 9th 2019
JA: What have you tried so far?
Customer: Cleaning the air vents at the back of the unit, switching it on and off at the wall socket for 5mins I’ve now had it switched off for 2hrs
JA: Anything else you want the Electronics Expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: the ice bucket was having problems as if the water was leaking leaving a build up at the bottom of the turner but I switched off ice machine last week

Good afternoon,

You have reached, an independent paid question and answer platform that matches experts in various skills to customers.

My name is ***** ***** I will assist you with your appliance today.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your appliance.

I understand how frustrating that can be.

This indicates temperature issue and/or an air flow problem due to heavy ice build-up inside the rear wall of the appliance.

Please try this to solve the issue:

Leave it unplugged and empty with door open for around 12-24 hours.

Then plug it back (expect some water on the floor) and wait for another 4-8 hours so it gets back to optimum temperature.

The problem should be resolved.

However, if the issue appears again then the problem is with defrost operation.

You will have to test/replace the temperature sensor and/or defrost heater element to resolve the issue.

Please do not hesitate to ask any follow up questions.

I hope you enjoyed your experience with today.

Have a wonderful day.

Thank you.
