Customer Question

Hi, I have a de Dietrich oven and it is not heating up. It was mid use on Saturday and had reached 180C then when I looked again It was down to 62C and hasn’t gone up ever since
JA: Is your De Dietrich oven gas or electric? How old is it?
Customer: We had an issue when we first purchased and it was stuck in demo mode (it was ex display) but that was 8 years ago Electric Purchased 2014
JA: How long has this been going on with your De Dietrich oven? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Only since Saturday, I have tried using fan setting and conventional and neither heat up, the temp just goes down. The grill works. I have tried using the help function to exit demo assuming maybe somehow it had reverted back but it hasn’t worked. It starts up and sounds like it’s on, you can hear the fan etc
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I don’t think so

Hi
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 15 days ago.

I am afraid, this indicates an issue with the oven temperature sensor (thermostat) that is faulty and will need replacement.

When this is faulty oven suffers from uneven cooking or will not heat at all.

Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 15 days ago.

Hi,

If you want to replace it yourself, you will have to unplug it and pull it out then remove the top and rear off the appliance and then you can replace the thermostat.

Alternatively, you may call De Dietrich at 0330(###) ###-####to book repair.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.

Ok thank you so much

I’m trying to ascertain if it’s worth fixing at 8 years old or replacing
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 15 days ago.

The cost of repair will be around £150 including repair charges.

If everything else is working fine then yes, it may be worth fixing.
