Enquiring about an issue with my freezer. I've got warning light on and the freezer isn't at the correct temperature. The fridge temperature is fine but items in the freezer are no longer frozen.
JA: What's the brand and model of your freezer? How old is it?
Customer: AEG SCS71801F1 and 5 years,
JA: How long has this been going on with your AEG freezer? What have you tried so far?
Customer: a few days. I've taken all the food out and remove the excess ice/water. Tried frost matic mode this morning, but not sure how long to leave it to re-cool/freeze.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your AEG Fridge Freezer.

hard to tell, but the fridge/freezer has it's usual hum.

The fridge is still at normal temperature (6 degrees) but the freezer has the warning symbol and isn't at the set temperature.

I understand , this indicates temperature issue and/or an air flow problem due to heavy ice build-up inside the rear wall of the appliance.

Please try this to solve the issue:

Leave it unplugged and empty with door open for around 12-24 hours.

Then plug it back (expect some water on the floor) and wait for another 4-8 hours so it gets back to optimum temperature.

The problem should be resolved.

However, if the issue appears again and fan is working then the problem is with defrost operation.

You will have to test/replace the temperature sensor and/or defrost heater element to resolve the issue.

Alternatively, you may call AEG at 03445 611 611 to book repair.
