JA: What's the brand and model of your laundry appliance? How old is it?

JA: How long has this been going on with your Zanussi appliance? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Just today, have switched off disconnected water and power, door opened so I removed the laundry and bailed out the water. Cleaned the filter which had a hair clip in. Removed the back main drum belt still intact

Good afternoon and Welcome to Justanswer,

My name is ***** ***** I will assist you today.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Zanussi washing machine.

Customer: replied 15 days ago.
Any ideas
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 15 days ago.

This indicates either the the motor and/or motor capacitor is faulty and will need replacement.

Please try this to solve the issue:

You will have to unplug the appliance and pull it out, then remove the top off the appliance.

After it is removed, plug it back; now, keep your hands off electrics and select any program, if drum will not tumble give it a bit of push with your hand.

If it starts working then motor capacitor is faulty however, if it will not start rotating then motor is faulty and will need replacement.

Will give it a try any idea of cost for capacitor or motor
Expert:  KevinWhiteJA replied 15 days ago.

The motor will cost around £95 + repair charges.

If you want to replace it yourself, you will have to unplug it and pull it out.

Then remove the rear panel and then you can replace the motor.

Alternatively, you may call Zanussi at 03445 610 645 to book repair.

If there is anything else I can help you with, please let me know.
